Who is Violet Vela? She is a poet who has been writing poems for 31 years. Improvisational, custom poetry on her typewriters for 8 years. To her, poetry is love, joy, tears, fun, healing, laughter, and magic. She is honored to bring this all to your event. Every time.
She directs each guest to tell her a one-word prompt after which she quickly begins typing a custom poem on the spot. Some guests choose to stay and watch their poem unfold before their eyes while others go off to dance and have fun! In the end, everyone leaves with something crafted just for them.
In addition to writing custom poems for your events, Violet also offers the following services:
Poem-grams! Hire Violet for an individual poetry experience as a gift for someone you have in mind. Violet will dress to the nines, bring her little table and typewriter and surprise them with their own poem, typewritten and read out loud just for them.
One-on-one private poetry sessions. Just need someone to talk to, vent to, share your stories, or your feelings with? Hire Violet for an hour to listen, let her transmute your emotions into a poem or let her guide you into writing your own.
Custom poems by mail. Don’t need the whole in-person experience for an event? Violet mails her custom poems too!
